Yesterday Once More is a song written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis. It was included on the Carpenters' fifth studio album, Now and Then, as the opening track on the B-Side. "Yesterday Once More" peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is the band's biggest hit worldwide.[1]

Carpenter once admitted in an interview that "Yesterday Once More" was his favorite out of songs he and Bettis wrote.

Song History[]

When "Yesterday Once More" was written in the early 1970s, oldies hits from the fifties and sixties were enjoying a "resurgence in popularity", much to the delight of the brother-sister duo. Carpenter and Bettis thought it proper to write a song about the phenomena, and would use it to bookend Now and Then's oldies medley. [2]
