Carpenters (also known as The Tan Album) is the third and eponymous album by The Carpenters. Released in 1971, Carpenters contained three hit singles: "For All We Know", "Rainy Days and Mondays", and "Superstar". The album also solidified Karen Carpenter's reputation as one of the most accomplished female vocalists of the 20th century.[1]
Because the airing of Make Your Own Kind of Music coincided with the release and popularity of this album, the Carpenters performed many of their songs from Carpenters on the TV series.
Reception[]
Public reception was very positive. The album went to #2 on Billboard's Top 200, and became a 4x platinum album on April 16, 1998.[2]
