Close to You is The Carpenters' second studio album, recorded and released in 1970; it was hurriedly assembled in the wake of the surprise smash single of a similar name. Along with "Close to You", the album also spawned "We've Only Just Begun". The album was ranked #175 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.[1]
